The Clarence - Dublin
The Clarence dates back to 1852 and this hotel has long had a special place in the hearts of Irish people - especially the clergy and the many who regarded it as a home from home when 'up from the country' for business or shopping in Dublin - largely because of its convenience to Heuston Station. Since the early '90s, however, it has achieved cult status through its owners - Bono and The Edge of U2 - who have completely refurbished the hotel to reflect the the hotel's original arts and crafts style whenever possible.
The Hotel is comprised of elegant and contemporary rooms and suites have been individually designed to provide accommodation that is simple, elegant and refined. No two rooms or suites are alike and are decorated in one of the hotel's five signature colours: crimson, royal blue, amethyst, gold and chocolate. Specially crafted beds with Egyptian linens.
The Tea Room, one of Dublin's finest restaurants is beautifully executed and unpretentious. Pristine white linen, designer cutlery and glasses, high windows softened by the filtered damson tones of pavement awnings, all combine to create an impressive atmosphere.
The Clarence is within easy walking distance of Grafton Street, Temple Bar and is only 30 minutes from Dublin Airport.
