Overlooking the Amalfi Coastline.

Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations. There are famous places like Venice, Florence, Sienna, Milan, Naples, the glamour of the Amalfi coastline, the Blue Grotto of Capri and of course Rome. Famous travel places are the ruins of Pompeii, the Vatican, the canals of Venice, vineyards in Tuscany, sailing the bay of Portofino, or driving along the picturesque Amalfi coast, one of Italy's most popular excursion and attracting glamour to this tourist destination annually. There are many things about Italy that make it a marvellous place to visit, you can admire the stylish Italians the beautiful people or experience the pulsating beat of life with it's noisy street markets and locals buzzing around on Vespas. For those who want to relax and enjoy the 'cafe culture', the wine and food and 'people watch' then travel to Italy is for you!

Ravello sitting high in the hills above Amalfi Ravello is a refined, town almost entirely dedicated to tourism. Boasting impeccable bohemian credentials - Wagner, DH Lawrence and Virginia Woolf all spent time here - it's today known for its ravishing gardens and stupendous views, the best in the world according to former resident Gore Vidal.
Located at the top of the Dragone Valley, enclosing endless numbers of amazing views, and examples of traditional architecture, the beauty of Ravello has been charming travellers, and artists of all nationalities for centuries.

In the centre of Ravello, there is cultural sightseeing, and not be missed is the intricate eleventh century Cathedral, looking right over the town's main square, the Piazza Duomo. But the real joy of spending time in what is still a small village is to wander around the tempting boutiques hidden away down narrow side streets and then to indulge in the pastime of sitting at the table of an old-fashioned trattoria to watch the theatre of daily local life being played out in front of you.
Arrive during one of Ravello's many Music Festivals - known as the "City of Music" - you will have time for what the Italians call a 'passeggiata" - a gentle wander round - before taking your seat as the sun sets, for a world class open-air concert in the gardens of the Villa Rufolo that was named for the patrician family which dominated much of Ravello history during the 11th century, the villa was once the home of kings and popes, and is best known for being where Richard Wagner composed an act of Parsifal. This Moorish-influenced building now houses some of Ravello's loveliest art pieces.
