Bali is a mystical place that evokes different visions for all that have experienced it, and those that have only heard the name. The most important thing to remember about the island is that it encompasses many diverse regions and styles. It has untouched beauty, traditional villages, resort areas, playgrounds for the rich and famous, and many little hideaways.
Bali is considered by many to be their perfect island paradise. Not untouched by the impact of being a popular tourist destination, Bali has successfully managed to accommodate its many visitors while maintaining its rich culture. Having been a tourist destination since the early days, Bali is accustomed to playing host to visitors with the famed Balinese smile accompanying their friendly, relaxed, and personable service.
Where warm waters of the Indian Ocean lap at beautiful beaches as palm trees sway in the breeze.
Freestyle Collection has selected private villas and resort's with beachfront locations or surrounded by emerald rice fields for that perfect hideaway to relax and indulge.
Considered the cultural pulse of Bali, Ubud is a charming village located on the island's gentle sloping foothills offering picturesque countryside, terraced rice fields and flowing rivers. Ubud and its surrounding village hamlets attract those who appreciate a slower pace of activity and are drawn to a creative lifestyle brimming with art, craft, dance and music. Ubud lends itself to scenic nature walks, cycling and calming spa treatments.
Inspired by vibrant green rice paddies, mountains and colourful Balinese festivals, the elite artistic colony that began in the 1930's with eminent European painters, writers and musicians has now grown into a thriving arts centre.
Visit antique shops and woodcarving studios along with the local Ubud markets in the surrounds of the extraordinary beauty of the landscape.

Four Seasons Resort at Sayan
For luxurious solitude, the Four Seasons Resort at Sayan is built around a rice paddy and perched on the edge of the Ayung River an excellent place for a sunset cocktail. The Resort takes full advantage of its extraordinary setting right on the River Ayung. Enter across a long bridge leading to a lily pond that, almost unbelievably, rests atop the lobby.
The design throughout is ultramodern, but with references to Balinese tradition. Guests stay in two-story suites (bedroom below the sitting area), deluxe suites, or high-end villas with private plunge pools. Interiors are done in gleaming woods and natural fabrics, highlighted by precious local art and artifacts. Every room has views of the deep-green gorge and/or the river.
The two-level horizon pool follows the serpentine shape of the river below. Pampering, of course, is at a maximum at the Spa that is magic with the secrets of the East and the staff take care of everything - including, if you wish, your packing.

Amandari - Ubud
Combining timeless Balinese traditions with modern opulence the Amandari sits in a peaceful spiritual environment. Perched on the escarpment above the Ayung River Gorge, with spectacular valley and rice terrace views, this hotel is minutes from the artistic community of Ubud.
Designed as a Balinese village, from the spacious lobby you follow the river stone pathways through the stone gateways to your thatched roof Amandari suite with beautifully appointed one or two detached bedrooms, separate living room pavilion and private swimming pool with sweeping views of the Gorge.
Dine privately in your outdoor bale of teak and bamboo set within the tropical garden of your courtyard.
Amandari's Spa has two open-air bales, a beauty room, sauna and marble steam room, surrounded by a Lotus Pond; it seems to float peacefully above the water. Treat yourself in luxury surrounded by sacred land that captures the islands depth of tradition.
